Guest Comments from Penfeidr Newydd

Here are some of the comments from guests who stayed at Penfeidr Newydd, a stunning self catering cottage in Newport Pembrokeshire at the foot of Carn Ingli, Mount of Angels.

"This was the perfect spot for our honeymoon - to rest and recover from the wonderful madness of our wedding! Loved the wood burner, the AGA kept us warm and was fantastic to cook on. The area was fantastic for great Welsh hospitality. And the view....!  Thank you for making our honeymoon so special."
Darry & Geneveve. Brighton East Sussex

"A wonderful week spent in a wonderful cottage! We have really enjoyed our time in Newport and the location of the cottage allows easy enjoyment."

"Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage – what a lovely spot to spend our annual sisters break and we were even able to bring Mum and Auntie Rose too!! We loved the walks over Carn Ingli and our scampers around the beaches. We were so weary afterwards it was lovely to lay in front of the fire! Sorry that I ate your bathroom sponge – Mum told me off and replaced it but it was so delicious I couldn't’t resist (Mums not so clever though, she broke the axe handle and had to replace that too!!) Mum & Auntie Rose really enjoyed their stay too and we have said that if they are really good and you will have us we would love to come back again soon.
As us Cornish say everything about “Penfeidr Newydd” is a PROPER JOB!!
Rose, Dianna, Fern & Willow, Cornwall

"A beautiful cosy cottage, we have really enjoyed staying here in such a stunning location. Have walked lots and lots, Manny has never had it so good! He loved the beach and the hills and snored peacefully from early evening onwards (He is a lot more lively at home in the evenings). Thank you, glad we found you! Oh yes, loved the snug, perfect for when two of you want to watch TV and 2 of you want to read quietly with a snoring dog."

"An amazing week of weather marked by the most stunning location. Great walks from the door to Pentre Ifan, Newport beach and best of all, around Carn Ingli down into the Gwaun valley and back the other side. Saw an adder on Dinas Head (so do read the guidance in the kitchen!) Meal in Cnapan was an excellent end of holiday treat. We go home much refreshed and unexpectedly tanned."
Simon, Sarah, Joseph, Daniel, Bristol

"After a 13 hour drive to our destination we fell immediately in love with this place. Romantic view, nice ambiance in and around the cottage and a warm welcome from Julie makes it easy for us four to feel home for the next two weeks. We will keep that place in our heart and will be happy to come again. Good bye!"
The Streichards, Germany

"Had a very nice weeks stay here at the cottage. Walked up into the national park directly behind the property, many times. Newport beach was lovely, even met Griff Rhys Jones filming a TV documentary down there, great fun. Hope to return here one day, many thanks!"

"What a great week!
A wonderful charming cottage within a bewitchingly surrounding area. Dog and kids loved Newport sands and dunes, we enjoyed Dinas Island, Carn Ingli and an off shore boat trip with Aquaphobia. The weather was fine, we were perfectly happy.

"Thank you for letting us share this magical cottage for a third time! The weather has been very changeable but all had a wonderful time none the less. "We’ve had a fantastic week. Idyllic location, very peaceful and relaxing, we loved the garden and the views. Lovely to be able to walk out of your gate onto the hills. Nearly stepped on an adder on the footpath (so be aware). Really enjoyed all the coastal walks and Rolf loved the beaches. The circular walk at Dinas Head was great for views and two lovely little coves at start and finish. Thank you for a perfect holiday."

"Amazing garden views and location. Wildlife especially good, ravens overhead everyday, a seal swimming in the clear water at Strumble Head, a friendly red admiral who came and sat with us every afternoon at 6:00, but best of all the handsome ram in the field at the bottom of the lane!
Really good meal at The Golden Lion, who managed to squeeze us in at the last minute. Good fish and chips at Dinas Head. Delicious ice creams from the van at Goodwich. As always everyone in Newport lovely and friendly. Thank you for a great holiday."

Jackie, Pete, Nicola, Herbie the dog, Nr Reading, Berkshire.
